Hello from Marbella, Covin Porsche replica

Postby mutley666 » Thu Aug 12, 2010 4:43 am

Hello all,
Thought I would introduce myself.
I have a Covin Porsche 911 replica with a beetle engine in.
The original idea was to fit a subaru ej engine but Spanish laws are a pain in the ass so the bug engine will have to be fed some steroids, ie Turbo on its way from a Saab 9000, i think its a T03 or T25 Garrett.
Going to increase engine size from 1584 to either 1914 or 2.1 and fit the usual goodies, stroker crank etc...
I have a Mexican injection system which I intend to use porsche 944 injectors as I think they are similar dimensions to standard vw 1600 ones from mexico system but flow much more.
Megasquirt 2.2 v3 will control these and I have a ford EDIS system to take care of sparking.
Let you know how I get on.

P.S, I have seen a header design that sits the turbo snug behind the fan housing, does anyone know where I can buy one or have one made and sent to Spain?
Thanks.

This is the stroker 2110cc engine installed with injection system and Ford EDIS ignition unit.
Since this photo was taken I have changed the idle valve and installed a bigger throttle body. 50mm

Heres how its looking with a fibreglass ducktail spoiler.
This photo was taken before the engine was installed as the rear end height shows!!!
