MK2 Golf 2.0 8v GTI

then i had to mount the auxiliary air valve so the IDLE will be ok, and not having cold start problems.
i've choosen the auxiliary air valve because it is simple and reliable and no modifications are needed to ms2 hardware, also it is more durable than Bosch PWM valves (2 or 3 pins) found on digifant2/cis/cis-e.
so here are some pictures with the valve and the valve mounted to bypass the throttlebody.

and a picture with the valve mounted and the settings in megatune for output ports.
i've used FIDLE output for grounding the IDLE relay witch then suplys 12v to the valve, then the valve begins to close so the IDLE drops from 1200rpm (cold) to 960rpm (hot).

and in the end: the WUE, cold advance and idle advance settings (they need a little tweaking but other than that are working perfect)

a question if i may:

my engine has a 60-2 wheel and the crank position sensor is a hall sensor NOT a VR, and i want to run the spark trigger from the wheel not from the dizzy, the dizzy is a 4 window with hall.

now, my ms2 is setup to read hall input so i should be good feeding the crank hall to pin 24 of the ms2...and also the pin 36 of the ms2 is wired to the bosch 139 ignition module (cheap and reliable piece of work, and easy to replace) who drives the coil.

can i use the 60-2 wheel to trigger the spark and the 4 window dizzy to just distribute the spark to the plugs, using bosch 139 module?

sure:

the question on vortex was for my colleague who put a MS2 unit on his 2.0 16v ABF, and we haven't any luck on starting it with trigger return and a 4 window dizzy , so Prof315 suggested that we can use the 60-2 wheel to trigger the spark, since the ms2 ecu was modified to look for hall input and to drive a bosch 139 ignition module we were good to go, we wired the hall ( crank position sensor) (pin 1 - +12v, pin 2 - signal, pin 3 - ground) and we weren't sure if the 4 windows dizzy will distribute the spark correctly...

so Prof315 helped out once more :
sure, the KR dizzy is just going to distribute the spark and nothing else.

and tooth #1 angle (deg BTDC): 78

now the 16v engine is cranking and when it should give a spark it is bucking like something is holding it down :)
input is set to : Rising edge and spark output to : Going Low(normal) since we are firing the coil through the bosch 139 ignition module...

we will try to use Falling edge and Going Low to see what happens...

my setup is using 4window dizzy and trigger return settings and it fired up without problems, input was on Rising edge and output was on going low(normal)...and firing the coil through same bosch 139 ignition module, but in the future for more accurate spark i will swap the ignition trigger to 60-2 trigger wheel, so that is why I asked about the dizzy :)

16vs are frustrating :), with my 8v i only worked 3 days until it fired up, including making the wiring loom and mount it on the car and i was a complete noob about ms2, so to speak :)

Cheers

Yeah I've struggled with a couple of my MS installs but they were both Jap cars, a honda accord (89) and a Toyota supra(93).
