16v Temp sensor location with GM(saturn) sensor

Thanks to diggatron and Rallytuned.

#3 at the bottom left of the coolant flange the saturn sensor fits.

2006 Saturn Ion Redline 2.0l 16v.

Dont buy from the dealer unless you have DEEP pockets. 8-12$ on rockauto.com

OR this sensor with an adapter:

Saturn Ion, they have a 1/8" NPT CLT sensor with the standard GM connection ($12 to $16). Note: the pictures below depict a saturn SW1 sensor.....same thing, different connector......it was for testing after all..........

What was used to "adapt" it to the cylinder head was a 1/8" to 1/4" NPT adapter bushing found in the plumbing section of Home Depot! ($1.90)

its been awhile but getting back to this project, got the car to run but never well the only thing that stood out was the temp never moved from 70 so i'm thinking its not reading correctly. its on a ms1 sns if you have any suggestions let me know

not sure, isn't the black wire off the saturn plug ground? thats what i figures and the yellow goes to the ecu? this could be where i messed up...
