How much TB is too much?

There are alot of throttle bodies out there to choose from, but I don't know which one to choose.

What is a reasonable size TB for a 2275cc aircooled engine in a woods buggy where torque and off-idle performance are important?
Is a 60mm Mustang 5.0 TB in the ballpark?

I checked some of it out & there is more to learn.
It looks like runner length/volume and plenum volume are the big things.

So, my next question would be- if getting the ideal runner length to match cylinder volume cannot be reasonably achieved on a particular engine layout, can you kind of make it up with plenum volume?

In one of those posts they discuss it. Something about room for the plenum and TB.
I wouldnt be surprised if some torque is gained or lost in doing that, but im sure it wont be too adverse.

Retro-fitting a FI plenum into a 40-50 year old engine bay is challenging.
I have come up with a couple of cardboard mockups, but there is much to learn.

then why not use stock stuff? German FI stuff, or mexi FI stuff?

Yeah, we could adapt stock parts, but when you get into stroked/bored engines the stock stuff kind of comes up short.
If I had some stock FI parts I would probably be working with them, but I have none and haven't run across any lately.

I picked up some Ford 5.0 parts last night for mock-up purposes & will be hacking that stuff this weekend.

I am messing around with some parts from a 95 Mustang GT.
My friends have a large band saw & I am going to section up some of this stuff to see what it looks like inside, and to see if perhaps the parts can be used in different ways.
I will probably end up with a pile of scrap, but you never know...

wish i had a bandsaw :) it would def help.
If you look at my ideas thread it might help you with the endcasting/injector parts at least.
